NEW TRIP!

Step aboard SV Sea Dragon for a lively offshore passage from Antigua to The Perry Hotel & Marina Key West, trading palm-fringed anchorages for big-mile sailing and a dynamic finish in the Florida Keys. Leaving Antigua astern, we head northwest across the Caribbean and into the Atlantic, setting the stage for a fast-moving and engaging voyage.

This trip offers a strong blend of open-ocean sailing, changing weather patterns, and strategic navigation as we approach the Bahamas and the Florida Straits. Expect longer sailing days, night watches, and the satisfaction that comes with covering serious miles as part of a capable offshore crew.

The voyage concludes in Key West—colorful, storied, and a classic landfall after a rewarding offshore run.

You’ll also get

  • Experience with longer offshore legs and sustained watch systems
  • Practice navigating busy shipping lanes and coastal approaches
  • Exposure to evolving weather systems and routing decisions
  • Confidence-building miles toward future ocean passages
  • A full crew experience aboard a proven expedition vessel

Sailing with Panexplore means gaining real-world, hands-on experience, not a packaged cruise. You’ll refine your sailing skills, learn practical offshore techniques, and develop confidence in a professional, supportive environment. This sailing expedition requires you to be in good physical health and reasonably fit. Activities involve moderate to strenuous exertion, including extended hours awake and difficult physical environment to evolve in.

If you have any medical conditions, recent injuries, or concerns about your fitness level, we strongly recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before booking. This expedition is not suitable for individuals with severe mobility limitations or certain medical conditions. Your safety and enjoyment are our priority, and we want to ensure this experience is appropriate for your physical capabilities. Please contact us should you have any questions or concerns before booking.

All meals on board Sea Dragon during this trip are delicious and vegetarian, with the addition of fish if we catch any along the way.

Tentative Itinerary

While the exact route and timing will depend on weather and skipper decisions, a typical voyage may look like this:

Day 1: Welcome aboard in Antigua
Join the vessel in Antigua and settle into life onboard. Meet your skipper and fellow crew, get familiar with the boat, and prepare for the voyage ahead.

Day 2: Training & coastal sailing
The day focuses on onboard training, safety refreshers, and familiarisation with the vessel. Conditions permitting, we’ll head out for a short coastal sail and anchor in Jolly Harbour, easing into sailing together as a crew.

Days 3–7: Offshore passage to the Bahamas
Depart Antigua and begin an offshore passage north-west toward Inagua Island. These days are spent at sea; with crew rotating through watches, navigation, and sail handling.

Days 8–9: Inagua Island
Arrive at Inagua Island and anchor, allowing time to rest and recover after the offshore passage. Time ashore provides a welcome pause before continuing north.

Days 10–11: Inter-Island passage to Nassau
Depart Inagua Island for another extended passage toward Nassau. This leg continues to build experience in navigation, night sailing, and teamwork.

Days 12–14: Nassau, Bahamas
Arrive in Nassau and berth in the marina. These days offer time ashore to rest, explore, reprovision, and enjoy the contrast between offshore sailing and island life.

Days 15–16: Final passage to Key West
Depart Nassau for the final offshore leg of the journey, sailing toward Stock Island, Key West. This passage completes the voyage with a final stretch of open-water sailing.

Day 17: Disembarkation in Key West
Arrive in Key West, secure the vessel, and complete a final clean-down and debrief before guests depart.

Please note: This sailing adventure is weather-dependent. Stopovers, timing, and the exact route will be determined by the skipper to ensure safety and the best possible experience.
