NEW TRIP!

Join us aboard expedition yacht SV Sea Dragon for a spectacular open-ocean passage from Port Louis Marina, Grenada to Club Náutica, Cartagena. Sailing through the southern Caribbean’s steady trade winds, we’ll make our way westward toward the vibrant Dutch Antilles—Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao—before making landfall on the colorful Colombian coast.

This 900-nautical-mile passage combines bluewater adventure with island-hopping exploration. Expect steady winds, warm seas, and the kind of offshore rhythm that only develops on longer voyages. Depending on weather and routing, the skipper may choose to stop in one or more of the ABC islands along the way, offering a chance to stretch your legs, snorkel in crystal-clear waters, or enjoy a meal ashore before continuing west.

Hands-on sailing is at the heart of this voyage. You’ll be part of the crew; standing watch, trimming sails, plotting positions, and getting comfortable with life offshore. Whether you’re looking to build sea miles, gain confidence, or simply experience the freedom of a true ocean passage, this voyage offers the perfect mix of challenge and reward.

You’ll also get to

  • Experience genuine bluewater sailing through steady Caribbean trade winds
  • Learn about passage planning, weather routing, and watch systems on a long ocean leg
  • Refine sail trim, helming, and navigation in varied offshore conditions
  • Enjoy potential island stopovers in Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao
  • Gain confidence in real-world seamanship as part of an experienced expedition crew

Sailing with Panexplore means learning by doing—at sea, with professionals who’ve crossed oceans and led expeditions in some of the world’s most remote waters. This is not a packaged cruise or classroom-style sailing course. It’s a hands-on, immersive experience designed to fast-track your seamanship, confidence, and understanding of life offshore. This sailing expedition requires you to be in good physical health and reasonably fit. Activities involve moderate to strenuous exertion, including extended hours awake and difficult physical environment to evolve in.

If you have any medical conditions, recent injuries, or concerns about your fitness level, we strongly recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before booking. This expedition is not suitable for individuals with severe mobility limitations or certain medical conditions. Your safety and enjoyment are our priority, and we want to ensure this experience is appropriate for your physical capabilities. Please contact us should you have any questions or concerns before booking.

All meals on board Sea Dragon during this trip are delicious and vegetarian, with the addition of fish if we catch any along the way.
