Join SV Sea Dragon for the ultimate ocean adventure—the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) 2026. This 2,800-nautical-mile voyage takes you from the sun-drenched shores of Gran Canaria to the turquoise waters of St Lucia, following the trade winds across the Atlantic as part of the iconic ARC rally.

You’ll have time to get acquainted with Sea Dragon and your fellow crew before departure, taking part in ARC shoreside activities, exploring Gran Canaria, and soaking up the excitement of the start line. Once at sea, the passage becomes a true ocean adventure: long days and nights of sailing, hands-on seamanship, and the chance to hone skills such as celestial navigation and watch-keeping.The rhythm of life on board will be unique every day. Crew members will share watches, handle sails, navigate, cook, relax, and enjoy being disconnected at sea. Upon arrival in Rodney Bay, you’ll have time to unwind, explore the island by land or sea, hike, snorkel, paddleboard, and savour the fruits and warm waters of the Caribbean.

Sailing with Panexplore means joining a true ocean passage where the sea, wind, and weather dictate the journey. You’ll gain real experience in blue-water sailing, camaraderie, and adventure, finishing in one of the Caribbean’s most stunning locations.

This is not a trip for the infirm or physically unfit – you MUST be able to go up and down the companionway and move safely about the boat while in rough conditions, have good balance, and be in good health. If you have any medical conditions, recent injuries, or concerns about your fitness level, we strongly recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before booking. This expedition is not suitable for individuals with severe mobility limitations or certain medical conditions. All meals on board Sea Dragon during this trip are delicious and vegetarian, with the addition of fish if we catch any along the way.

Tentative Itinerary

While the exact route and timing will depend on weather and skipper decisions, a typical voyage may look like this:

Days 1–3: Arrive in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. Safety briefings, provisioning, and participation in ARC events and shore activities.

Day 4: Start the ARC rally! Depart with the fleet, heading west across the Atlantic.

Days 5–30: Underway in the Atlantic Ocean. Crew rotations for watch-keeping, sail handling, navigation, and daily life aboard. Time for learning, relaxing, and enjoying the passage.

Days 31–32: Arrival in Rodney Bay, St Lucia, with plenty of time to unwind and explore the island. Enjoy the ARC Prize giving Ceremony. Optional sailing or adventure excursions, hiking, and water sports.

Day 33: Disembark from Sea Dragon by morning.

Please note: This sailing adventure is weather-dependent. Stopovers, timing, and the exact route will be determined by the skipper to ensure safety and the best possible experience.

The deposit is only $1,000. It’s non-refundable. If you can no longer make it, or if we need to cancel or modify the trip we will either refund your deposit or apply it to a different trip. Roles and Expectations

You are joining a working voyage as a full member of the crew. As such, you will be involved in virtually all aspects of the trip and operations. On board you will be part of a crew of up to 16 people in total, including yourself. Our expectations of you are fairly straightforward and your team will depend on you to fully participate in everything on the boat. You will be expected to work hard to the best of your ability, to be conscientious, alert, to look after the boat and to care for each other. You will not be asked to do anything you are not comfortable doing.

Tasks and activities involved in life on board SV Sea Dragon include: helming (steering), navigation, sail handling (hoisting, adjusting, stowing), keeping a look out, meal preparation and helping to keep the boat clean and tidy.

Travel Details

Gran Canaria Airport is a 20 min taxi from Marina Las Palmas. Hewanorra International Airport is about a 1.5 hour taxi from Rodney Bay Marina in Saint Lucia.

All crew members are responsible for their own passports and visas, which must have at least 6 months remaining beyond the trip. Please look into the specific type of visa you need for arriving at these destinations by sea, or contact us directly to discuss.
