NEW TRIP!

Join SV Sea Dragon for a short but spectacular Arctic sailing adventure Across the Arctic Circle in Greenland coastal waters from Nuuk to the iceberg-dotted fjords of Ilulissat, or Aasiaat, depending on ice conditions. Covering around 400 nautical miles, this voyage captures the essence of Greenland—towering icebergs, long days of Arctic light and the famous UNESCO World Heritage site of the Ilulissat Icefjord.

Sailing north along Greenland’s rugged west coast, we’ll navigate among ice floes, fjords, and steep-sided mountains that plunge straight into the sea. The route may take us into breathtaking Disko Bay, one of the most remarkable natural environments on earth, where vast icebergs calve from the Ilulissat Glacier and drift slowly out to sea.

Each day brings new sights—changing ice, wildlife encounters, and the endless daylight of the high Arctic summer. You’ll learn to handle the yacht in icy waters, read the conditions, and work together as a crew in one of the most remote sailing regions on the planet.

You’ll also get to

  • Cross the Arctic Circle under sail
  • Sail among icebergs, fjords, and glaciers in West Greenland
  • Learn techniques for navigating and operating safely in icy conditions
  • Experience 24-hour daylight and the magic of the high Arctic summer
  • Explore the famous UNESCO-listed Glacier of Ilulissat or the fishing community of Aasiaat, depending on ice and weather

Sailing with Panexplore means joining a genuine expedition, not a sightseeing cruise. Every mile depends on the conditions and the collective decisions of the skipper and crew. You’ll learn, contribute, and explore—immersed in one of the planet’s most extraordinary environments.

If you have any medical conditions, recent injuries, or concerns about your fitness level, we strongly recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before booking. This expedition is not suitable for individuals with severe mobility limitations or certain medical conditions. Your safety and enjoyment are our priority, and we want to ensure this experience is appropriate for your physical capabilities. Please contact us should you have any questions or concerns before booking.

All meals on board Sea Dragon during this trip are delicious and vegetarian, with the addition of fish if we catch any along the way.
